First Birthday Bash was a huge success!

We would first like to thank all of our family, friends, supporters, and everyone who made it out to Judah’s big birthday bash yesterday, The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh for hosting us, and Icing Smiles and Bappy Cakes Bakery for an incredible Dream Cake, but we also want to thank all of the people who wanted to but couldn’t make it and sent their love and good wishes from afar. The bash was a grand success!

Judah was in a great mood and got to meet and play with so many of his friends and fans! The venue was absolutely perfect, and the art on display was incredible! Our many thanks to those who donated to the Children’s Home either by donating works of art (Dina Russo), gift certificates (Pageboy Salon and Boutique), and also to everyone who was able to donate clothes, blankets, toys, baby food, bottles, and a ton of other in kind donations. A giant thanks to those of you who purchased artwork and donated online and at the event, we were able to raise well over $1000 in cash and check. This money and all of these goods will be very helpful to the mission of the Children’s Home.

It was a great time, and we cannot thank enough everyone who came and made it such a special day. Judah had a couple of very special guests (although every one of you who were able make it are very special to us). First, a reunion with amazing nurse Jena, the first nurse to hear Judah’s heart murmur when he was just one day old – she was the nurse who called the pediatrician to take a closer look, and we are forever grateful to her. Judah also got to meet one of his biggest heart heroes, Lynne, who is an adult survivor of Truncus Arteriosus, the same heart condition Judah has. Meeting an adult who has the same heart condition was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to spent more time with Lynne.

Overall, an incredible party we won’t soon forget! Thank you again to everyone that came, donated, or even just sent their thoughts.

  1. SO grateful I could make it yesterday…. what a *heartwarming* event, in *all* ways!!! I know you’ll all have *many* happy memories of this event, and the way you are now able to ‘pass it forward’ to help others… Awesome that Lynne was able to come and meet you!!! I’m sure it was just as meaningful to *her* too ;-).

    Lots of love,
Susan Richman and lots of your ‘fans’ at Rodef Shalom šŸ˜‰

Enjoy your first birthday, you don’t have to do anything – just smile and pose for photos.
